Painted Finishes
Faux finish is a term loosely applied to any hand painted, visually textured technique. Many of these finishes have been around for hundreds of years. They really warm up a room by adding depth to otherwise dull and lifeless walls. They do an excellent job of hiding imperfections in your wall surfaces, and they can fit into any decorative style.
To achieve my diverse portfolio of techniques, I use a variety of specialty tools and the latest faux finish materials, as well as sponges, brushes, plastic, rags, chamois, terry cloth, feathers, toothbrushes and other everyday objects. I use only acrylic, latex and other water-based paints and finishes, and I work one small area at a time until it is done, attending to every detail from floor to ceiling. Since I work one small area at a time, I don't charge by the number of colors but rather by the complexity of the technique, and I always achieve a consistent effect throughout your room.
You can see examples of my faux finishes at Dillman & Upton in Rochester, Michigan.
